I pulled the galvanized fender to my boat trailer off and discovered some heavy rust on the underside. It has eaten through in a couple of places. If I put a layer of glass cloth on the underside will it adhere?
a better fix is bondo the holes and glue 3/8 rubber sheet to the underside, stops the gravel from knocking the paint off and no more dents. Hope this helps, figerglass is brittle and the rocks will break it.
I doubt that I could replace them for $10-20 but will check. If it runs $20-30 that would mean $40-60 for both and I could do the glass for under $15.00. This is a tamdem axle galvanized trailer and the fenders are relatively OK except for a dozen or so relatively small rust holes.

Again will fiberglass adhere well to metal?
SoLittle
Ah, now we know a little more. Might as well do all four at the same time. I checked two sources and fenders for 13-15 inch tires. Price 20-35 dollars and tanden fenders run 30-45 dollars.
After cleaning and repairing you might want to brush on a under coating of some type.

Just checked under the trailer section of this forum so I'll shud up now and just read and learn myself
