Will broken skeg affect speed?

The skeg on my Volvo Penta 3.0 GS is close to half broken off if not a little more. I am wondering if this will affect speed at all or just steering?

I doubt you will notice any difference at all....

It won't affect either steering or speed even if you break it all the way off. It's there to hopefully bounce off things (rocks, logs, etc) before they hit your prop.

You might consider buying a "Skeg Guard" here at IBoats. Look it up
