Found a great deal on a brand new 225/75/15 wheel & tire for my trailer. Has 205/75's on it now, Would a 225/75/15 work for a spare in place of a 205/75/15?

Tandem axle.

The 225 is going to be 30mm larger in Diameter than the 205.
So the axle will ride 15mm (0.6") higher on that side.

You probably won't notice the difference nearly as much as riding on the flat tire. :D

Does a "Great Deal" mean "Nearly free" or "I can save $20 by buying the wrong/out of date Tire?"
Check the date code on the sidewall before you put up the cash.
If it is too good to be true......

If have to use that spare tire, I wouldn't suggest going farther than the nearest tires store.

And, always keep matching ST tires on your boat, as P rated auto tires don't have stiff sidewalls needed on your boat trailer.

Car tires are legal, cheaper and far far better construction. Steel belted beat ST anyday. ST is overpriced. Name 1 brand of ST tires that can do the speeds & 60,000 miles a car tire can.

There is a slight derating of the passenger tires capacity. about 10% ?

Thankfully many trailer companies are putting on the fully legal passenger tires. Sometimes progress does happen
