will a 1961 18hp lower unit work with a 1979 15hp motor

I have a 1979 johnson 15 hp ss motor I want to convert to a long shaft. I have a parts motor that is 1961 johnson 18 hp ls. can I use the extention/drive shaft and other parts from the 18 hp ls to convert the 15 hp ss to a long shaft?

May be, if you have time and a lot of talent for welding. Sorry, no it is not possible, theses kickers are different
