Will '98 Johnson 150hp Power tilt/trim fit '84 Evinrude 70hp

I am trying to get a used power tilt/trim for my 1984 Evinrude 70 hp outboard. Does anyone know if the '98 johnson 150 hp is compatible?<br /><br />Thanks,<br /><br />Don<br /><br />Please email me at: dajen@yahoo.com, since this unit will not last long.

no, the newer motors use the fast track t/t.<br />yours uses the conventional T/T.

2K Boat,<br /><br />Thanks for the prompt reply, I almost bought this unit without knowing for sure. It would seem that a 70hp is fairly easy to tilt, but these old bones don't cut it anymore. The trim would be handy on the Delaware River, where the bottom can be very tricky, so keeping the prop just under the water would help.<br /><br />Don

you can get a rebuilt unit or go with an after market. both are about the same price $450 to $550.<br />i know thats not what you want to hear.<br />with the omc you will need the external relay box.<br /> web page <br />or this one<br /> web page <br />just trying to help
