Will 2 Honda 150hp outboards fit a 41.5in transom?

I recently purchased a Seaark 24ft Aluminum workboat from the US Navy. It does not have an engine. Originally it had Volvo 165hp inboard but was converted to outboards by the Navy. It has a add on Armstrong outboard bracket on the stern that measures 41.5 inches across. Through research I was able to determine that this boat at one time had two Mercury 150hp two stroke outboards. I am wondering if 41.5 inches is wide enough to fit two 150hp or 130hp Honda four strokes?

I also know that the four strokes are much heavier that two strokes. It looks like the 2-stroke Mercury outboards weighed approx. 395lbs each and a couple of Hondas would be around 500lbs each. I think the boat could handle an extra two hundred pounds.

Thanks in advance for any comments.

Dave

Center to center is 26" with the Honda's which would be the same as a pair of Merc's on the transom. If the Merc's cleared the Honda's will also. BF150's will be more weight than the Merc's, but if the boat has enough beam to it, they should float. The 150's are actually lighter than the old 130's and they have VTEC. If you want to go real crazy, strap a couple BF225's to the back (1200ish #'s) and hang on. We like em over powered up here.....git-er done..
