Wick ?

Hello I Am Working On My 63' Johnson New Points,coils, Everything On The Armature Plate And The Manual Talks About A Wick And It Came In The Tune Up Kit I Took Everything Off The Plate There Is No Wick Or Wick Clip What Is It And How Important Is It, Any Help Would Be Appreciated Thanks

guessing that they meant the little felt piece that you saturate with oil and it wipes the bumpy part (can't remember the name for anything) that the points ride on.

i do have a manual ,this is the first motor i have worked on just trying to understand everything and learn from people that know alot more about this stuff than i do,i thought that that was the purpose of this forum,sorry will try not to waste your time
