Why does my used bow mount minnkota auto-pilot trolling motor keep spinning right or left when I use the foot pad?????

Depending on what you are doing with the foot pad it is supposed to. <br /><br />The AP feature has to be set and left alone. If you send a manual turn signal to it that will over-ride the signals from the compass controller inside.<br /><br />Have you studied your Owner's Manual?

2 things. First when the TM is deployed, it has to be within 5 deg of vertical for the AP to work properly. Secondly, Minkota has a bad run of circuit boards in some of their units. Yours my fall into that category. At one time they were replacing them for free so you may want to check with them.

Can anyone tell me where I can get an instruction manual for a minnkota auto-pilot, circa 1994? I bought mine used & didn't get 1 w/ it.<br /><br />Thx

Try Minn Kota.<br /><br />I have gotten Manuals download from them.
