My new to me, 1995 130 Johnson has what appears to be a flush out hose attached to the pisser (technical term..) The end appears to have a check valve, but what ever probably used to attach to a hose for flushing looks pretty buggered up.

Is there any reason I cant just run the hose through the lower cowling add a hose fitting and cap it when not in use? Or, am i looking as something that is not a wash-out hose? It would be VERY nice to be able to do so. The engine will be on a bracket on a boat that will live in the water. Very hard to get muffs on it.

Any input very welcome. Thanks, Scott

What you've got there is the aspirator hose. It's supposed to sit in the bottom of the cowling and suck up any water that accumulates.

IMHO it's not one of OMC's better ideas, seems to be a solution in search of a problem.

(And no, you're not going to be able to flush your engine with it.)

Awww... dang. I was hoping for a solution to my issue about how to flush this thing. Thanks for letting me know.

That's a Brunton SuperStalker. It's based on a Lotus Super Seven, but with gobs more HP. A 1500 lb car with a supercharged 3.8l V6. Very fun AND street legal! My wife and me do a lot of Solo events in it. Especially now since our boat is busted... We don't have a lot of garage space, so the two toys have to share a space.
