That seems a little foolish, I was under the assumption that this was a forum to TALK with others regarding boating??? So who gets to post there?? Is the information verified as correct??? Seems like there is a lot of post for not being able to post there!!!!!!! So where does one ask a general engine question??? A question that doesnt have to do with a particular make of engine???

I think your tinfoil hat has slipped.....readjust it and look around. There are appropriate forums for every type of question.
If you happen to post some nugget of info that is paticuarly useful, it just might make it to the FAQ...untill then, chill out.

That section is, well, for like it says FAQs, just a short cut or easy reference area.

As you can see there are many other more specific areas to ask detailed questions you may have about almost any topic.

someone pee in your cheerios?

a general engine question would depend on what type of engine...i/o? outboard? there's a section for each of them.

Re: why cant I use engine frequently asked questions

The Engine FAQs Forum is read only for all except Moderators and Admins. It is more an archive of excellent information than a forum for exchanging information.

Every post there has been carefully reviewed for accuracy, readability and relativity to a commonly asked question. Only then is it moved to the Engine FAQs from the forum where it was originally posted. It is all answers.

No matter what your question is there is an appropriate forum for you to ask it. That is where you have conversations. When someone posts an excellent answer to a common question it is considered for transfer into the FAQs.

If your general engine question is about an outboard engine, post it in the Outboard Non-Repair Forum, if it is about an inboard or I/O engine post it in the Mercruiser, etc. Forum. If it has nothing to do with boat engines post it in Non-Boating Tech.

uh? in what forum do i post the question......."whos gonna win the election"? :D :D :D

BAAAA HAAAA HAAAA.....

(im kidding jb) lol

the frequently asked questions forums are a really good place to start looking before you ask a question......just about every question ever asked about a boat has been discussed at great detail some time or another on these forums......the FAQS are there to cut time.....and stop us from posting the words........"you must put gasoline in the tank"......every fifteen seconds :)
