I was informed on Friday of these changes and I had no idea MySQL would ever get bought out, hopefully switching to an older stable version of MySQL will help solve our database errors.
The biggest problem toneeees, if Oracle, never gives much away free, I am actually glad you posted the note about Oracle, my wife is now looking for alternatives to MySQL. I figured it was a database formatting error, but when I saw the Oracle name this morning, my wife and I started looking real hard, we are both certified on Microsoft databases, so we may end up going with the lesser of 2 evils.
Well, I wasn't going to post anything because I didn't want to muddy up the water any worse that it was, but I've done a lot of searching over the past month and my strong impression is that if you are dealing with Internet Brands on anything, you are toast. They destroyed vBulletin and have pretty much destroyed anything else they've acquired. If there's ever been a successful upgrade to VB 5, I couldn't find it. I suppose that wouldn't make news. I'm hoping for the best but who knows.
