Who makes Waveline sski boats??

I am gonna look at a "Waveline" 18' boat with a bad engine in about 2 hours.
I have not been able to find any info on Waveline boats in NADA or anywhere else.
Any quick info will be much appreciated.

In a used boat (especially a 20 y.o. used boat) manufacturer doesn't mean much - unless you're plannin' on running out on the Pacific with it. Really it's about condition.

Looks like they were built by a local group there in Salem, OR until about 2001. Check THIS out.

That Waveline is like my Phantom. A long gone company. Almost zero info available about them. But really what info do you need is what I say. A 20 year old glass boat is a 20 year old glass boat. Take a look in that ski locker and tap the transom for rot. At least it has a Merc and NOT an OMC mill.

Yes, it truly is about condition and I just wanted to see if I could get an idea of value as it would be a fun project for me. Having said that; I cannot afford to do a lot of work (FUN) and lose money.Thanks again..

true on that make sure there is no rot in corners as well is a good place !! if it starts n runs maybe do a compression check, quick overall check it on the lake ?? i wouldnt pay no more than 1500 fir a 20 yr old boat in decent shape unless its been overhauled in all aspects ...i picked up a 18ft open bow 3 yrs ago with 3.0 merc good motor !!! alpha one drive good drive !!!wich is probably what this had for 1500 it had a rotten floor i fixed it n sold it for 1800 !!! now i have a 78 bumblebee with a 65 merc 650 paid 800 runs great

I would not consider that a true ski boat but just a boat with an I/O

Did a quick spin through your CL to see what was in the same range (prices/size):

A little more project - THIS one.
A little less project - THIS one.

Both have good outboards and look to have been well cared for. Either might be a fun toy to tinker with. The tin boat would be a pretty versatile boat.

@ BobV_T. Hello there. Random that I found this forum, but I wanted to buy the same boat as a first boat for our young family here in Washington. Googled and found this forum. To the person looking at this boat, what did you find wrong with it? We have a couple of grand to spend on a family thing but didn't want a yearlong project like yourself. . I have a 1991 23.5' American Waveline and am looking for the Port side curved portion of the windshield. I understand the company was a hot tub company that got into the boat building business and built expensive boats. They found it to be to costly and went back to building hot tubs. There are markings on the windows that say ANSI %97.1 1984 16 CFR 1201-11 I live in Washington and the boat was built in Oregon. You can send me an e-mail direct to Jon@mtci-wa.com
