Who makes this engine ?

I'm looking at a Suzuki DF140, and was told the Johnson J140 was a suzuki. I asked my local mechanic and he thought it was made by Yammie. I called a Johnson dealer, he said no, Johnson makes it. What? Huh? Who's right?

A Suzuki DF140 is a Suzuki DF140 manufactured by Suzuki. A Johnson 140 four-stroke is a white Suzuki DF140. Yamaha is not in this picture. I would worry about a Johnson dealer and your local mechanic that think a Johnson 140 is made by Johnson.

I agree. That dealer is either lying to me or incompitant. When your dealing with motors that cost what they do now, either way, that's a problem. Thanks for clarifying that for me.

Yammie used to make the Merc 4 strokes, but I don't think they have any involvement in the Verado's. The mechanic is one thing, maybe he made a mistake. But a Johnson dealer lying or being ignorant about Johnson ever making it's own 4 strokes is pretty bad.
