Who makes the "Tempest Boats"

Hi all.First time using this forum.Great site.OK,Question I hope someone can help me with.I just purchased a 1987 Tempest boat with a 4.3 litre cobra OMC engine.It's a 20' cuddy.Who exactly makes these boats?I can't seem to find any info on it.Appreciate any help on it.<br /><br /> thanks

Catchem...yours would have been built in their plant in Toronto back in the 80's, they downsized considerably in the early 90's as many others did. You won't find much about them on the web but we found a place called Doral Marine on the 400 near Barrie that sells them, will include a link to their site and if you click under specials you will see their current models. As far as yours goes I had the same model but it was 1984 with a 5.0 v8 OMC, it was a great boat for us, with the cuddy and porta-potti we could stay out on the lake all day. Doral Marine

Hey Boatin Bob,thanks for the comeback.Sounds like it's pretty tough to find any info.Checked the Doral web site.Some nice specials.You would'nt know where I could get hold of an owners manual by chance would you?Again thanks for the comeback.

Don't think they ever really had anything like that, it was a small operation. When I had mine one of the pieces of teak that was used for a step up on the side broke in half, at that time they were still in the Toronto plant so I went there and asked about buying a new one, while there I asked about manuals and even a plant tour but no manual and no tour. They sold me a new step piece for $5. Anyway if you have any questions I'd be glad to try and answer them, we had ours for close to 4 yrs and then moved up to 25' Doral Citation....good luck with yours!

Ok,well I guess I'll just have to wing it where I can.Must be some other boat models close to this style.I'll just keep searching and start making up my own records for future use.If you happen to come across any information that you would think would be helpful to me Bob,by all means send it to me.Thanks again for your help.<br />Good boating to you.

Catchem...I went digging through my archives (wife calls it boxes of crap) and I found a 1988 Tempest brochure, it's not very big but one page has the Tempest 200 and 195 on it. I could scan it in and send it to you if interested, need your email address.
