hey everyone, me and my older brother have been in a bind about who made force motors. i thought that chrysler made them and my brother thought mercury made them. we've both found "chrysler force" and "mercury force" if anyone could clarify this for me it would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Re: who made force?

Force was marketed by Chrysler before being sold to Mercury. I'm not sure who had them before Chrysler.

Re: who made force?

Actually...
They started out as West Bend in the 50s, the Cookware company.
Chrysler bought them in the early 60s and called them Chryslers.
Then US Marine bought them around 1980 and changed the name to Force.
Finally, Mercury bought them around 1990 and continued the Force name.
