Who knows Windows Live Email?

This change over from XP to Win7 continues to be a royal PIA. One of the biggest of them is the lack of Outlook Express. Windows LiveMail is one of the alternatives and that is what the Mrs has chosen.

Here is the dilemna. When you type or paste a URL in your email it is not a hyperlink. With way too long a time in trying to figure out how to default hyperlinks, no progress has been made.

Any suggestions

Don't know if this is too simple, but with Office 2007, when I cut/paste or type in a URL, suddenly I had to hit the "enter" key afterward to have it register as a hyperlink.

Have you tried that?

No Tim, I haven't tried that. There is a little world icon, on the toolbar, that you can click on after you highlight the typed or pasted the URL and it will turn it live. But, by rights, this function should be defaultable. Even to find this function took an hour.

This is just another one (of way to many) of the stupid changes that we have to spend hours trying to figure out. This issue is indicative of 'Change' You Can't Believe in!!

My own computers are still running XP but we were a little too late for it when we were forced to update the Mrs's computer.

Incidently, I don't know if it has any bearing but this is in FireFox.

if the link doesn't have the http:// in front of it windows mail may not recognize and automatically change it to a hyperlink, as Tim said you may have to hit enter after it as well. Your browser being firefox shouldn't affect it either.
