I went and started up my 1992 25 horse evinrude and when I was returning to the dock I noticed that there was white smoke coming out of the exhaust. Does this mean there is water in the gas or is it like a car where water vapor will come out of the exhaust on cold mornings? The air temperature was maybe 65 degrees and it was raining at the time I ran the engine. Is this something I should worry about or is this a common occurrance of no concern?

Re: White Smoke

atticus, Under those conditions you were likely seeing steam or condensation.

But at the same time, keep an eye on engine temperature just in case and make sure your overheat alarm works....
