White haze on the windows

My boat is an 82 and looks pretty good but the windows for the cabin betray it's age. They are covered in white haze. What is that and more importantly, what can I do to remove it so I can get my boat looking better? I don't want to replace the windows altogether if I can help it.

Oh man, you mean like I can just spray some windex on a paper towel and wipe it off? Goodness, of course it won't just come off or why else would I post? You think my next one is going to be "I just filled my gas tank, why my boat no go zoom?"

It's like a crazing and a razorblade will not take it off. I don't know if an acid will help or hurt things. If I knew what it was that caused it I'd be better able to find out how to get it off the windows.

If it is safety glass, you may have water in between the glass and plastic layers giveing you that milky look.

just a thought

It could be a calcium build up from soap just like a shower door
wipe them down with CLR can't hurt
