white gunk ??

Good day all, i just bought a mariner 60 serial# OD195256, the first time i ran it, it bogged down on wot, gps speed was 7.3 mph. When i took the air cover off i saw this white (looked and felt like litheum grease) on all 3 carb throats. A couple of days later when i looked at this issue the throats were clean. I ran the motor on muffs and it did not return. Any ideas what this could be.<br />Much appreciated<br />Markus.

Cool air condensing on the carb throats and mixing with the oil on the outside of them. When it warmed up it goes away.

Thanks CoolMaker, after all these 20+ years of owing a boat and never had this problem before. Is there anyway of preventing this from happening. It was a major pain in my $^%$# trying to blast off during a bass tourney.<br /><br />Markus.
