We have a cheetah fish/ski boat w/ a 90h.p. Merc. O/B on it. It gets on plane fine and all but once you try to trim it out the nose starts jumping up and down before you can get on the pad. I finally got it to do right with just 2 people in the boat the other day and got it to kick up a "rooster tail." Well this tail is spread out like a V instead of straight up and down like I have seen most rooster tails. Is this normal? Can anyone help???? Thanks

Re: While on plane....

Welcome to the board :)

The rooster tail depends on the prop. Differant props make differant directional thrust cones of water. The best article explaing this is http://continuouswave.com/whaler/reference/prop3.html and it has a wealth of prop info.

As for the bouncing......try moving equipment around in the boat.

Bob

Re: While on plane....

you are suffering from porpousing I believe.

you might also benefit form the fitment of a trim fin like a doelfin or similar.. they go on your cav plate and look abit like wings.. they give you you more lift in the rear, and will get you on plane faster with less speed and will reduce or eliminate porpousing...

regards

Frank

PS, excuse spelling :)
