Which types of grease?

Once again, I am new to this, so please forgive the questions...I have been looking for all the grease zerks on the boat and trailer. I have found them on my Alpha one stern drive and of course the bearing buddies on my trailer. My boat is a 86 Glastron x19. Are there more that I am missing? Can I use the same grease on each of these or do I need to use different and if so, what grease on which ones? Thanks for the help!

Re: Which types of grease?

There is also the gimbal bearing and u-joints... if they have zerks. You should invest in a Mercruiser service manual that will give you all the maintenance guidelines for your power plant.

As for the trailer, don't know about your's, but my Shorelandr dual axle has grease fittings on the center pivot points between axles.

Use Marine type wheelbearing grease on the trailer, use whatever Mercruiser recommends for the drive.

Re: Which types of grease?

I am waiting for the manual that I ordered, and they still haven't received it down at the shop where I ordered it. In the mean time I want to make sure that I am not going too long without maintaining my boat. Should I be greasing those each time I go out in the water or just a couple times a year, or does it change depending on age of components? I use it in fresh water and go out for about 6 hours every week, if that helps. My trailer is a single axle glastron. Thanks again for your help!
