Can anyone tell me do you recommend any specific sparkplug & wires for a 92 175 Johnson. I had gotten my current plugs at the local marina and wires are just generic not specifically for marine or Johnson
When we went out on Sunday the engine had a major shake down at higher speeds, do you think this would be the problem. Thanks for your help

I forget the exact plug but its something like Champion QL77R or similar.
Put a timing light on the wires when it starts missing, sounds like its losing spark at rpm. Could be a coil going south, find the culprit and saw it with a good one, see if the problem follows the coil or just replace.

A loop-charged 92 should have QL78YC plugs. The factory wire kits for the engine are made with a solid core twisted wire. That exact wire may not be what is avalable at a local auto parts store.

I believe that you will find that the correct plug for your engine is the QL77JC4 set at .030, but you might want to check with a BRP dealership's service department. That is what is listed on the BRP site currently.
