I have a 1991? Mercury 70hp 3 cyl. Serial # 07187815.
The EzPatsWeb says either AC#V40FFM or Champion#QL-76V
The ones that are in it are NGK#BUHW.
Are these all the same plug?
And I thought the "newer" mercs ran BUHW-2 (wider gap).
Opinions?

I think it depends on what you use your motor for. The QL76V plugs are resistor type. They will be good for boats that have a lot of electronics such as depth finders. The NGK BUHW is the standard plug for your engine. I believe L76V is the Champion equivalent of the BUHW.

Good info. Thank you.
FYI, be careful searching for L76V plugs at NAPA. They claim that it interchanges with NGK #4838.
