Which service manual for my 85 Mercruiser 140

Hi I'm looking for the right manual for my boat by my research its down to # 6,8 or 10 . I'm thinking # 6 but my serial numbers don't show up on the models covered I have a 1985 VIP mercruiser 140 serial # 6855069 I'm needing to repair my lower end it serial number is 6813418. Is that the Alpha 1? If anyone can help me that would be great thanks!

A little confused here Matt.
The 6855069 is for an 85, the 6813418 is for an 84, both are manual #6, but neither are for the engine itself. Both are drive or transom shield numbers. No way to tell which.

OK where would I find the serial number for my lower end so I can identfy which one it is, or is there a easier way to figure that out. Sorry I'm new to this but want to learn
