Sunday will have 7-9 people on the boat(btw the capacity is 9 or 1500 obs). I've tested two props on my boat with full fuel, me, and an ice chest. I've tested the 2 props below b/c with a quicksilver alum 3 blade 15.25 X 15 it doesn't jump on plane.
wot range 4200 to 4600, 5.7 ltr, 210 hp
boat weighs about 5200 lbs.
16 X 14 3 blade alum quicksilver:
definitely gets up to 4600 rpm at wot--had somethrottle left-- I didn't want to go past 4600, but the cruising speed is only about 24.7 mph (GPS) at 3500 rpm and top speed about 32 mph @ 4600 rpm. Are these speeds good enough to get around the lake after towing the tube? planes in about 4-6 seconds.
14.6 X 15 pitch 4 blade alum solas:
this is the prop i'd like to run with just a few people on board, but the rpms are only about 4400 at wot, but will the engine be overloaded or lugging with 7-9 people on?
37 mph at 4400 rpm
28 mph at 3500 rpm
planes in about 5-6 seconds
I also tested a 15 pitch mercury rev 4 but it ran about the same as the solas 4-blade, so i'm going to resell it on ebay.
Which prop w/ you run on Sunday?
Thanks,
