My brother has a SeaDoo GTX and has been using the $40/gal Sea Doo oil. Seems a little high to me as I'm running TCW3 in my Yama (It is not acceptable accordintg to Sea Doo, however) What's the scoop on oil for the Sea Doo, is another synthetic OK, why is the Doo so picky and my Yamaha runs fine on TCW3? Is this a low ash/no ash issue? What is everyone else running?

Yes... a 100% synthetic sems to be fine in my 1999 GTX RFI. Two years ago I got cheap and started using a TCW3 synthetic blend (Pennzoil) and soon began fouling plugs and getting poor performance. Plugs were fouling every 12-15 hours of use, then I quickly switched to the Bombardier lube and wouldn't you know...everything cleared up. Still not satisfied with the crazy price ($40 per IMPERIAL gallon) I contacted Pennzoil and communicated on-line. Pennzoil claimed their 100% synthetic would perform well so this year I tried and started the season with a whole gallon in the machine. 28 hours later no problems. It's $22-24 per real gallon, and often on sale at the beginning of the season. Given that I use 2-3 gallons per season, it's really worth $50-60 to guarantee trouble free operation...but I don't know what gets into me sometimes...trying to save a buck!
