Which motor to buy?

Such bad luck with recent purchase A Force 90hp. Looking at 1989 evenrude 90hp been punched warrenty 60 days $2750 installed Also 88 Johnson 90hp special 30 day warrenty rebuiltpowerhead 2450 installed and a 89 90hp mercury rebuilt powerhead $2950 1 yr. warrenty Whic one should I buy , very little knowledge on subject?

Howdy, dozer. All of those are good engines and should be reliable. The Evinrude looks like the best value, but only by a small margin. I doubt that you could go wrong with any of them. Others may disagree. Let's see.<br /><br />Good luck.<br />JB

I agree. All are good engines. I think it comes down to who rebuilt them and their reputation for standing behind their work and what quality parts they used. <br />Good Luck!

Amen hadley...warrantee don't mean nuthin' the reputation of who built it does. any body can [and does] squirm out of warr. obligations.

I've got a 1984 evenrude that has been good to me. But I think everyone is right, there all good choice's. I am in sales/service and name is everything! Make sure your buying from GOOD people. I might be wrong but those price's sound high. Good luck man.
