I live in florida
I have a simple question we are in the market to buy a boat. We are thinking of a center console since you can do anything with them just about. we found this Angle 22 ft with a suzuki 200. boat and motor is 1995
no bimini top just a trailer.
My question is how much is this boat worth? is there anywhere a can check the book value of boat. I have tried the nada site boat its kinda confusing. Also are suzuki motors good are they better then the Merc. (optimax) or johnson's...What motor should I try to get ? I don't care what the hull is as long it is a angler, aquasport, mako, rabalo, are these good hulls ?

I would think that that boat is probably worth around $13000 or so. I am not a big fan of Suzuki motors, they are good motors but repair bills will be higher than a domestic motor and used parts are fewer. Any of the new motors are very good, but be careful of Johnson and Evinrude right now because they are in bankruptcey and you may have warrenty problems.

I would avoid all 2 stroke motors unless you are looking for short term use
4 Stroke is the way the industry is going. I like Yamaha the best followed by Suzuki

I say avoid the four strokes. They are huge, heavy and unproven. Get a good two stroke while you can. Parts are easier to find and probably cheaper. It is not like someone is gonna take it away from you even if the manufacturers only produce four strokes in the future.

Good luck.

Re: which motor to buy

I have that exact boat, almost. I've owned it 2 years, it was a repo, it is a 1994CC with 1994 200 Suzuki. see my post on this board about engine trouble. The engine ran excellent for 2 years, and now i have an intermittant problem. If i cant solve the problem cheaply, i will buy a new suzuki, even the previous poster is right about expensive parts and limited small time dealer network, of course what is the alternative....omc filed bankruptcy!!! As far as the boat goes, I have a used 1994 22 CC Angler with a 200 Suzuki I bought it in jan 1999 for 11000 cheap, it was a repo, I am thrilled with it. It does however have hollow spots in the ****pit liner as decribed in the previous post(gelcoat flacking off where there were air pockets behind it, as in the glass wasn't properly rolled out and air bubbles in it while it cured). I do believe they ARE cosmetic, I use a screwdrivr to dig out the voids, and then fill it in with marine tex, I must have 25 1/2" to 2" spots like that. The good news is that these spots seem to be only on the floor (which is rock solid after 7 years thankyou very much), not the hull or upper deck. Personally I (unlike cooper) like the open transom. There is no doubt about it, the Angler is a Price boat. With that in mind make the best deal you can, as far a warranty goes, in my 50plus years on this earth I have found you cannot count on warranties, these boat compannies are always going in and out of business and bankruptcy (look at OMC!). I (unlike Coopera) like the ride of my Angler, trim tabs do wonders, in rough water you can put your bow down a bit, and run almost full throttle ( and the ride is pretty dry too), although, if you live on the east coast of FL you may need a deeper vee, here in the Gulf the waters are calmer the angler bottom is not a deep v. Like I said, make the best deal you can, if you cant get it cheaper than most of the competition I would be surprized, they sell the heck out of the boats and they do it in volume. I visited the plant once, it I owned by ****y cubans, they almost threw me out when I asked for a brochure for the 1994 model. But, like I said, make the best deal you can. I wouldnt hesitate to buy another one. Bill

I forgot to mention pricing, I bought mine as a repo two years ago without a trailer for 11000, I'd say in good shape, it is still worth that, maybe maybe 13000. I would not pay over 13000 for a used angler.
capecoralbill

I just noticed you said the boat has no bimini, i also assume it has no t top, if you boat during the day youll need a ttop or bimini. On my pricing 11000 to 13000, i included the value of a ttop, which i was on my boat. I would deduct 1000 for no tee top, a bimini will probably run you $
500 good luck Bill
