Which model VP leg? Need to remove props

Hi,

Looks like the weekend run has resulted in me picking up a crab pot as when the boat was lifted, the leg has a swag of crab pot rope wrapped around the base of the leg and between the Duo Props. When I got home, I checked the manual about how to remove the props only to be confronted with various models of legs.

Now the picture in the book tells me that I have a DP-E drive unit because of the 4 fin props but I don't have a cone. The DPX-DP-S and XDP props look closer to what I have but they are only 3 fin so now I'm confused!

Apart from what leg do I have, should I actually have a prop cone on my leg? Also, when I do actually remove the propellors to get rid of the remaining rope, do I need to grease the splines and do I need a new nut? Should they be torqued?

Thanks in advance for any assistance!!

Thanks Don. Reading through the workshop manual it seems pretty straight forward. I'm assuming the propellor tool kit (Part # 3855516-5) must be a special tool and not a standard socket or torque wrench.

When I go to refit the front propellor, I understand it has splines which need to be lined up but how do I know what 'angle' to put it on in relation to the rear propellor or will it only go on in one particular position?

Moving to prop topics and questions.

The props are not timed, Just stick em on.
The outer prop takes a 1-3/16" socket. The inside prop needs the special wrench.

Thanks again Don - should the leg have a 'prop cone' on it? The picture is how I purchased the boat but wasn't sure if I should have a cone or not.
