Which Manual?

Bought a 1987 Invader last summer. I've posted a couple times on here, but nothing of much substance. Spring is rapidly approaching, and I've got a lot of work to do on my new acquisition. Here's the list:

-New Starter
-New Serpentine Belt
-Shift / Throttle at helm isn't consistent or responsive - probably a new cable
-Trim Cylinders leak around the caps - probably a seal kit (and spanner
wrench)
-Drive fluid leaking from bottom drain plug - need new plug and gasket
-New advance springs in distributor - have advance curve kit, need to know
correct advance curve for this engine

I have downloaded the manual for the outdrive, but haven't been able to determine which manual I need for the engine. Which manual should I get, and any good places to order online?

So far, I've done / had done the following:
-New Bellows and Gimbal Bearing
-Complete carb rebuild
-Replaced ALL of the fuel filters (2 filters and a screen)
-New Plugs (will do again this spring)
-New Plug Wires
-New Points / Cond. (Will do again this spring)

I am not new to boats, but am new to maintenance and repairs of I/O's. I figure a good set of manuals would be the place to start.

Engine is 1987 2.5L, S/N B408991
Drive is Alpha 1, S/N OB423268

Re: Which Manual?

The manual for your engine is no longer available on line... :(:(
Best go to a Merc dealer (or Merc on-line) and order the one you need.. I also find it easier to have a paper manual in the workshop... easier than having to run into the house every time I need to read the next line....

Re: Which Manual?

You need manual #10 for your engine. Merc PN is 90-14693-1 if you can find one on ebay.
