I have an 89 Tracker that i bought last year. Now that cold weather is here I figured I would pull the wheels and give the bearings a good look. The boat was used in brakish water before I bought it but will be in fresh water from now on. Which grease does everyone prefer for re-packing the bearings? Marine or regular bearing grease? Not knowing what was used before I plan on cleaning everything out and start with fresh grease.

i buy it at walmart, while your at it, put bearing buddies on it and get a grease gun. install the bearing like normal, and then they are easier to maintain.

Use wheel bearing grease. It is different.

It usually comes in a tub but you can also get it in grease gun cartridges.

Bruce, that Sta-lube looks like what I am looking for. Where do you get it?

I buy it at the local Kragen Auto parts or a few other auto parts stores in my area.

Just as a side note.....

If your not totally removeing all the old grease, make sure the new grease has the same base stock. Not all greases are compatable with each other.

High temperature, waterproof and bearing buddies as stated above will do the trick.
