Re: Which Carb UPDATE
looking in the holley online catalog all i could fine was that list number calling for renew kit 703-51. Holley probably did a special run of carbs with special list #'s for that volvo application, so your list number won't show up in most reference materials. They did that with my 4b 4160 on my Ford 5.8L. Your lucky yours shows the renew kit #, mine didn't.
however, I found this on google:
http://www.teufert.net/carbs/holley-cfm.htm

your 82028 comes up as a 2010 model 500cfm. Holley only had two models of 2 barrels that I know of, the model 2010, and the model 2300 which comes in 350 and 500 cfm ratings.
Usually all you need to do is match yours with an exploded view.
http://www.holley.com/TechService/Library.asp

the difference between the 2010 and 2300 is the whole top of the 2010 comes off and gets you access to the fuel bowl (the bowl is part of the main body) where the 2300 has an attached bowl.

pros/cons of 2b vs 4b are basically a 4b will provide more power and usually better all around performance. When it does give you more power, it's because you're burning more fuel which is why a lot of times people will say a 2b carb will get better fuel economy than a 4b. That's partially true but taken out of context. All things being tuned properly and with engine in good condition there is no fuel economy difference until you run wide open and if the 4b gains you more power- by being able to flow more air & fuel. The biggest downside will be if you want to go from a 2b to a 4b you will need to get a intake manifold to match. A 4b won't bolt onto a intake made for a 2b carb.
