Which Alpha One GenITransom?

I have Mercruiser 3.0L 140 HP from 1978, engine serial MCM4772778. I have to buy new transom Alpha One Gen I, but I am not sure how to buy the right one. Searching on web, I found two options for gimbal housing:
1) R/MR/Alpha One Transom Assembly 1983-1990 (part No 94989A 6) and
2) TR/TRS 1977-1993 (part No. 62720 A4)

I am confused, which gimbal housing is the right one. In general, as I need transom Apha One Gen I, is there a chance that I can buy the wrong one, or there can not be the mistake because e.g. there is no different versions of Alpha One Gen I?

None of the above, you don't have an Alpha I or a TR, you have what is called a one drive.
With that SN, you have a 77 engine and drive.
Here is the parts catalog for your drive and transom shield.

Does that mean that I have pre-Alpha or "R" model (from link http://www.mercstuff.com/drive_id.htm).
If this is the case, will "R-MR-ALPHA ONE-TRANSOM ASSEMBLY 1983-1990" (from link http://www.marinepartsexpress.com/merc_sch_fs.html) fitt, since it has "R" in the name. I am now not sure if "R" only refers to models after 1983 or it designates pre-Alpha models.
