I feel dumb asking this but i've searched under the seat and all sorts of blogs. I have a 01 Sea Doo GTX DI 951. Every one says pull oil from dip-stick tube. I can't find it! Does that exist on this model how are oil changes done on this model? thanks for the help.

Ayuh,... From what I see, it's a 2-stroke motor, oiled by it's fuel, or direct injection...

Isn't there an Oil Tank you have to keep filled,..??
Do you mix oil into the gas,..??

I'm not a Jet-flea'r,...
I just popped in because yer post had been here awhile, 'n I googled yer machine....

The oil tank is in the bow, probably on the stbd side. Its about 1.5 gal size. The oil filler cap should be under the hood.

It doesn't have a dipstick, you have to take off the seat and visually inspect the level in the tank. If yours has the custom dash cluster there will be a screen that shows oil level.

You don't "change" the oil, you keep adding to it. Its a 2-stroke. If you over-fill, it will drain in the bildge and make a mess. If you don't fill, the engine will stop running - usually pretty quickly...LOL.

The 951 was SeDoo's most problematic motor, so use good oil and never change brands as it might gunk up the feed system.

Thanks for the help, that all makes alot of sence. Never seen a 2stroke work like that.

Check out seadoomanuals.net or .com, they sell them, I have a 2000 GSX RFI, my oil filler is seperate, and not mix it with gas so its much easier, check your front compartment it might a filler neck.
I do suggest you get a manual if you dont have one, it does come in really handy as it did for me !

on a 951 the oil pump lubricates internals , but there is a small amount of oil in the crankcase that lubes counterbalance shaft. this oil will usually be replaced when engine is rebuilt .

Right, WHEN the engine is rebuilt. It is a 951. It isn't a matter of IF, it is a matter of WHEN and how often.

Since the OP didn't even know it was a 2-stroke, well, uh, how do I say this, I'd guess it will need a rebuild pretty soon.

There are two hoses coming from the oil tank, one goes to the carb to mix with the fuel, the other goes to the crankcase to lubricate the rotating parts and exits on the otherside and back to the oil tank. There's no need to change the oil since it's a flow through system. You just need to keep it full.
