Ok everyone,

I need your opinions on where I should put my boats name. I made this a poll to see what the majority thinks!! :D

Should I put it in the middle like in picture number 1 ? ( It would be above that curve line you see on the left and right of the sticker in the pic.)

Or should I go with on both sides of the middle of the boat like in pic number 2 and 3? (It would be below the curve line with the "boat" part just to the left of that warning label.)

In pic @3 it looks like it would be best to just put the word "The" in the middle of the big open area, but I can't because of the warning label on the right side where the "boat" would have to be. So I would basically have to install it like in the pic.

I wanted to name it something else, but hubby insisted on "The Boat". He said that when we talk about the boat, we would never say are we taking "so and so out" we would always ask are we taking The Boat out, or is the boat ready to go, or we need to prep the boat. So I just gave him his way on the name. LOL

See, therein lies the issue. If "she" had a good name, you would actually say, "We're taking the Flaky Princess out tomorrow so we'll have to pass on tea and crumpets". Now, you're just taking "The Boat" out....lol. Ok, just kidding. Looks like, albeit limited, the center is dominating!

I knew of a preacher of a local church who had a boat named visitation. When people were looking for him, the church secretairy would tell them that he was out on "visitation":)

Getting it worked aound that lip is gonna be a real bear, you can get it but maybe not the first time.

Used to work in a sign shop and that was the hardest part of getting stickers on was working around stuff like that.

I personnaly would go wit the port side, nice and clean and flat.

Agreed with Port side.

Center behind the tow ring and ropes will wind up eventually chafing it.
Splitting apart and centering doesn't look good, IMO.

I also agree with Port side! But I have to ask... You should create another thread for votes asking for a new name! Surely we could come up with something more original?! ;)

I would but hubby wants to name it "The Boat". So it wouldn't do any good to try to change it. I have to let him have one thing his way! LOL My idea for a name was 3 HR Tour, or Hole n Water!

So you guy's think putting the whole name on the port side would look ok? I just thought it would look weird to one side of the boat. I will have to go lay it in that spot to see what it looks like.

Actually it wouldn't have to go around the lip or anything. In pic #1 it is just showing kind of where it would go. I have it resting on the tow hook, but it would actually go up higher, more inline with the gas hole when it is said and done. So the T in "the" would start right at the top fo the curve, basically, and the t in "boat" would end at the other side just above the curve. It may be a bit higher depending on how high I can go with out running into the gas hole.

I am now thinking the same thing as far as shaffing on the lettering. We would be pulling the rope up and flinging in the boat in that area most likely. So I can see it getting harmed there too.

Ok, I took a pic of it on the port side and also one of it where it would actually go if in the center. Let me know if you all think port side still.

I was telling hubby about my delima and he thinks it will be ok in the center because we will be doing more fishing then skiing! LOL He is probably right since we probably won't have a spotter half the time.

We have kind of a joke between us that half of the boat is my side for my ski and wakeboard or what ever fun things I get, and the other side is for his fishing stuff! :D

That actually looks very balanced on the port side, you have stuff in the center and starboard but nothing port.

Also if you center it you will drip gas on it and the tow rope will tear it up.

When you do put it on put a peice of masking tape across the middle and a small peice on either end, get it right where you want it and lift one end using the center tape a hinge, cut the backing and apply that half working from the center to the edge.

Take off the center tape off and apply the other half again working from the center out, almost fool proof way to get them on right.

How about the name on the port side and your city and state on the starboard side?
