i already drained the block and manifolds and read the writeup but on the writeup it tells me to take the thermostat housing off and i dont want to mess with that. but i heard that you could just pour it down the hoses that are connected to the housing and i was just making sure which ones to pour it to.

Ok, just to add to Bond-o's comments . . . the large hose on the recirculating pump traps a fair amount of water. So, if you have not disconnected that to let it drain, then it would be a good idea to do so.
Anti-freeze at that point would be optional, but you could pour it down all of the hoses that lead to the thermostat housing . . . takes the guesswork out of it.
