I got a 1972 Whaler Sakonnet, where is the best location to mount a transducer?

Based solely upon the title of your post, I was going to suggest essentially anywhere as my answer....over the bow rail, the captain's seat, the sun pad....but then I read your post and saw you were asking about a transducer. I am not familiar with your boat so THAT one I can't answer.....

I put the transom transducer for my Sakonnet about 12" to starboard of the keel.
