Where to mount anchor

I am new to boating and have a 78 VIP .. i am not sure where to mount the anchor .Currently there is not one. It looks like there is a power anchor motor that is not hooked up ..
please help

It might help if we knew the model of VIP you were working on. Does this boat have a windlass or an anchor locker of any sort?

I tie mine to one of the bow cleats. You always want to anchor from the bow (don't have to but you should). It is not advisable to anchor in any significant current.
