I apologize for not responding before, I'd seen this thread when I was in a hurry and forgot to come back and reply. Gonefishie is right though, you're very close to a number of bodies of water for great fishing, it's just a matter of what lake is closest and what it is you're wanting to catch. It does seem like catching fish right now is a little harder that some years past, we've just come off of a really hot summer stretch that pushed some lakes up to 90f plus up where you're at this spring there was the major flooding that mixed things up, I don't know if that is still having an effect on fishing in northern middle tn or not, but it was some pretty wicked flooding and I'm sure it's rearranged some of the structure underwater. If you can't find a bait n tackle store to hang out at or a marina, try googling "fishing report" along with the lake you think you'd prefer to be on and see if that helps.
