Hi yall. This is my first post here. Do yall know of any company that will take or buy old boats. My uncle has a couple of old fiberglass boats that won't sell (really bad condition). We want the trailers, but we don't want a bunch of boats just sitting in the yard rotting. We are in Texas, about a hour from Dallas. Thanks.

I take mine to landfill, they charge same as garbage. Pull it with trailer, tie a chain near dumping bunker and drive off. very simple.
It averages me between $ 45 and $ 90 depending on boat size.

If you need "entertainment" just wait for dozer to drive over it.... :D

BigGreen: If they are anything interesting at all, you might try this same post on Fiberglassics.com. If they are worthwhile (unique, rare, etc.) somebody may take it off your hands for free. They may want to see pictures.

I've also seen old fiberglass runabouts sitting in the local County Landfill lots, waiting to be chopped up. Apparently, they're just considered as plastic waste.

Call the landfill and see what they say. Our landfill up here will take it for free, but it has to be cut into four pieces.

NO LANDFILL!!!

there are many charity groups that will take what you don't want. they either fix them up, strip for parts, or trash for you. around here, most go to the spca. and you get the TAX BREAK based on model/year, not condition.

Wow, I didn't expect this many responces this quick! Thanks guys. The boats aren't actually mine, there my uncle's. He lives in Fannin County. I'm not sure the what exact brand of boats they are, but I do know they are around 17' long, are made for outboards, and are V-hulls. JB, if you want to know more you can e-mail him at jsweet@texoma.net
Thanks Yall
