where to get carb rebuild manual ?

hey !

today my full OEM carb rebuild kit arrived from volvo penta - but without ANY instructions. where can i download the manual for rebuilding ? directly from holley ? ( holley 2300 500 cfm 2 barrell )

You can find some videos on Youtube. The FSM that covers your model engine should also have the info you need. The rebuild kit I bought only came with float levels of various engines.

2 BBL carbs are pretty easy. Take a bunch of pics of the carb while it is installed, getting all angles of linkages and choke arrangement. Take more pics of the carb while it is sitting on your table while you are taking it apart.

Then just start taking it apart.....cleaning/dipping....and reassemble with the new parts in the kit. It's not too tough.

Along with the manual, do as Levinz suggested and take plenty of pictures, especially of the linkages and how they connect. This is the most challenging part for me sometimes.

Also, I like to keep some clean paper towels laid out on the work table to the side and out of the way, so as I clean parts, I can set them in groups on the clean paper towels, so they aren't all mixed up and I won't bump them off the table while working on other parts of the carb clean.

Rebuild kits do not come with step-by-step instructions. They have specifications and measurements, etc but no how-to. In that respect they are kind of like Road signs in Texas, they only help if you have been there once already

There are lots of books available on Holley rebuilds, and youtube is a good resource as well but watch the videos all the way thru before choosing one or more to follow.

thanks gents ! i found some good videos on youtube and as well some instructions from holley. i,m currently in the rebuild process, carb is dismantled and parts are soaking in for cleaning . hopefully all will be fine !

btw : whats your best procedure to remove old gaskets parts ?
