Where to find this steering joint? 1976 40hp Evinrude

Where can I find a steering joint as shown in the picture? This is off a 1976 40hp Evinrude. It pops out of socket when tilting the motor for transport.

not sure where to find it, if not here, check out boats.net diagrams they are pretty good.
that said, it looks like you might be missing a keeper... or like you could add a keeper to stop it from escaping.
the other thought is,,,, did the ball wear or the socket?

The socket wore. The socket is made of brass and the ball is made of steel. Can you elaborate on the keeper as I cannot picture what you're speaking of. Forgive my ignorance.

Thanks for the link, F_R. It appears that will work. Also, if the socket/ball wears out they won't seperate from each other (with the washer beneath the bolt head).
