Where to buy the Brass Shift Rod Coupler for a 76' 35 hp

Does anyone know where I can get a new Brass Shift Rod Coupler for a 1976 35 manual shift? Or the actual nomenclature of it? Thanks!

Have you tried a Johnson/Evinrude dealer? That part was used for many, many years, and I think it's still an available item.

Note that the long shaft one, which is 5" longer than the short shaft one is very expensive, indeed.

BTW, those couplers can be repaired, if necessary. If you need more information, just let me know. The essentials are that you braze the stripped out hole full of fresh metal, drill, and retap.

The only drawback is that you must remove the powerhead to get the whole shift rod out, I believe.
