I know of an upholsterer who will make me a cockpit or mooring cover if I get him the materials.
Does anyone know where I can get canvas and the necessary supplies to make a cover?

I leave constructing boat canvas to the experts, but I have made numerous "shades" for the patio and the boat as well. (OK, I design, measure, cut and install grommets or snaps and the wife does the sewing.)

At any rate, a gazillion colors and weight grades of sunbrella are available by the yard at a bunch of sites of fleabay. Maybe even amazon as well.

Now, if you truly want "canvas", I have bought many a tarp online, and then cut it up for a cover. My Dad was an expert canvas maker (Navy teachings) and his covers beat sunbrella every day to sunday.

Just google what you want.

start with on-line places like sail-rite or reliatex. or simply google on-line marine canvas

however your "upholsterer" must not operate a shop, as every shop gets a better deal than most people do. expect to pay a lot for cut-yardage

also, you will need to buy an extra yard or two for mistakes (they happen)

Perfect fit will now sell and ship direct to most places. They carry many brands including sunbrella which is a very good material for boat covers.
