I have a 22.9 sunbird barletta on top of a ez loader roller trailer.. my question is how far should my boat stick out the trailer or should the back rollers be right on the edge of the boat??? My towing vehicle is a 02 chevy avalanche

I like to have mine as close to being under the transom as possible, but not to where it can roll past. you should also have about 10 percent of the weight on the hitch

Boat needs to positioned on the trailer to get the correct hitch weight. If you can't do it without having the boat hanging way over the end of the trailer, you need a bigger trailer. I think it is more important to have the proper hitch weight than having a particular part of the boat aligned with a particular part of the trailer. My boat overhangs the back of the trailer by a couple of feet and has no problems sitting this way. An advantage of having the transom overhang the trailer a bit is that you don't have to worry about where the transducer is, whether the trim tabs are stowed, or if the motor will hit the trailer.

To get the best support for the boat the transom should only barely hang over the end of the trailer. Most trailer mfgs recommend the transom be supported by the back of the trailer. Having to much boat hanging over the back of the trailer can cause a set in the hull over time and cause problems when planning out the boat at speed.
