You may have read my other thread about the in dash humminbird HDR-200 unit reading an intermittent depth, so I am gonna install an older pirahnamax.
Anyway I have a transom mount transducer but am struggling with where to put it. See pics below. To the left of the trim tab i'm worried about turbulence from the prop being an issue. To the right of the tab there's hardly enough space to get the bracket in, but I could probably do it.
OR I could get the adapter from humminbird to use the old, factory installed in-hull transducer. That would save on installation and holes drilled in the hull. But what are the chances that that old transducer has gone bad and that's whats causing the in-dash sounder to go intermittent anyway?
Thanks
