Where is the ID Tag ? 225 hp

Probably a dumb question, but I just brought home a new to me fishing boat with a 225 Evinrude, and I'm told the stator is bad. I need to find the ID tag for the correct year and model # so I can get the proper part numbers for the engine. The boat is an '85 Wellcraft with a Seadrive, but the engine was upgraded to an 88 or 87.

I just can't find the darn tag !

The tag was 1" X 2" +/- plastic and was mounted on the port transom bracket.

There should also be a quarter-sized welch plug centered between the cylinder banks which may have both model and serial numbers.
