thanks guys,I found it,dad had a boat like that ,16ft tri hull any many salty sea adventures around the shoals and beyond at Cape Lookout N.C. in the 70s.He had enough sense to go with buddies w other boats.I remember using cb radios, one guy had a marine radio.pop up storms and runnin hard to get inshore.3 waterspouts @ once!,a whale passed under the boat once and made it look even smaller to me in that big ocean.a tackle box actually fell /was launched out of the boat from the floor when they drifted to close to the shoals because the fish were on,I missed that trip.Dad said it probly would have rolled over if it wasnt a tri hull!short/wide.
