I'm not a guru on trout, but is that a brown????<br />I know you say pic of brown, but wouldn't that thing be HUGE, like some sort of record for a brown???????

yep brown, he was caught in 2000' north platte river had some cheap scales around 10lb was it.<br /> where can a fella pic up some slabba a jabbas

The only thing for sure I know of Bite-wise, is the Crappie fishing in a few of the western Kansas impoundments, one in particular that are supplying 100 fish days for a couple in a boat.<br />Fish running 12-16 inches on a fairly consistant basis. Lakes in this region Rarely freeze up till mid Jan. as far as gettin' on the ice.<br />Sutherland Canal below Ogallala Ne. usually produces some real nice rainbows (8-15lbs.) this time of year, but I haven't heard from the "regulars" that normally brag when it gets good.

Whiteknight Would that be the same Platte river that runs through colorado just below Hoosier pass?? If so I have fished it, I did not know it held browns like that.

flat head, that is not platte at hooser.the platte that goes into seminoe and pathfinder and alcova resivoirs in wyo, colo rivers dont have browns like that.

Whiteknight,,I have family that lives right on Platte river road in park county Colorado. The name of the river is the Platte, it runs right through the town of Fairplay, and just below southpark. (For those that dont know, there really is a town called south park) <br /><br />I guess it is another river with the same name I fished it last year and caught some trout in the three and four pound range.

flahthead, that is the south platte (nice area) <br />what im sayin like i did up a couple of post <br />is the North platte,they are not the same rivers.

Whiteknight, Cedar Bluff Res.Go south at exit 135 on I-70 straight east of Denver, very S.E. corner in spillway cove (the mouth of) in 30-35ft water, locate isolated brush. Fish verticley with 1/8-1/4oz jigs with yellow, white, chartruse tube bodys in 2-1/2-3". 1/4oz-1/2oz slabs in the same color work good as well. fish right above the brush....you know you're good when you hang occasionally.<br />Cedar Bluff Office-1-785-726-3212, check for open water conditions....usually doesn't ice up, but we've had extreme cold the last week, so check ahead...ask for Lynn or Kent.<br />BTW, Cedar Bluff is a 6500 acre impoundment.....
