I have a 2009-10 Regal 2400 or 2450 boat which comes Volvo Penta 5.7 GXi. Where can i find drain "plugs" to drain raw water?

Based on online search, there are 3 places need to have raw water drained:

1. Fuel Cooler on MPI module ( video not show clearly)
2. Raw/Sea water pump (video shows need to remove hose from pump. is there a better way like Mercruiser does?)
3. Port & stbd side of Eng block (from video for 2006 model but does not show location clearly)

The HD video on youtube.com shows a nice video but not detailed http://forums.iboats.com/images/smilies/mad.gif

Any help or hit will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Should be on the decals on the engine cover.

You should get all the numbers you have and keep them handy, year is meaningless. Get your drive numbers too, should also be on the cover.

Re: Where is places I can drain the water for winterize?

Hi, I go below info from purchase paper work:

1. Hull Identification(HIN) #: RGMMB732F708; YEAR: 2008; Series Body: PDGPR; Certificate #: 0915602804.
2. Volvo, 2008, 5.7 GXI DP; Serial #: 4012222586

if that is not enough, I need to drive 10 miles to the dock to take pic of the cover today.

ps. what is the "drive number"?

Thanks!

Re: Where is places I can drain the water for winterize?

Now you know why I go by Model or Serial number, and not boat year. You indicate the boat is a 2009-10, yet your engine is a 5.7GXi-H model (using your serial number of 4012222586) They were manufactured between 2006 and 2007, so there is a lot of things different from a 09-10 model engine.

Here are the procedures for draining your engine. Note, make sure the power steering cooler drains when you pull the hoses off the raw water pump. It should drain, unless it has been moved and tipped up and not down.

Is the fuel pump cooler located at the low right corner of the attached pic - the C and D parts are not shown in the pic ?

thanks!

With the instruction that Don provided here, I was able to ping down the exact locations and use 9/16" wrench and a screw driver, and spend ~30 mins to get water drained out from engine from these 6 locations.

Thanks Don for providing the awesome and timely help here and really appreciate that !!!
